Wylie L.
Moses
July 4, 1940 – August 27, 2024
Wylie L. Moses passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 surrounded by friends and family at the age of 84. He was the beloved husband of Diana Rossi and the devoted father of Louise Moses (Mike Scott). He was the loving grandfather to Mason, Maya, and Merritt.
Wylie was born in Clover, South Carolina in 1940. He is predeceased by 3 brothers, Sherman (Joanne), Larry (Dorris), and Gary (Pam). He is survived by his two brothers Cleve and Benny. He looked forward to his summer visits "back home" with his family. He would enjoy lazy days fishing with his brothers, nieces, and nephews while drinking sweet tea. As he would always say, "Sweet tea always tastes better in the South."
Wylie proudly served his country for 10 years in the Navy, a career he treasured. He would proudly share stories of serving on the Presidential Yacht, relationships he made, and lessons he learned. He left the Navy for the only reason he would - to marry his first wife, Margaret Moses and stay home with her to raise their daughter, Louise.
Fifty years ago Wylie and Margaret, affectionately known as Peggy, bought their house in Merion Station where he lived until he died. There he raised his daughter alongside his first wife. He worked for Kiester McColgan & Sons as a plumber. At Kiester McColgan & Sons he made life-long friends who enjoyed fishing and hunting in their free time.
Wylie's first wife died in 2010. He had the immense fortune of finding love a second time. He married his wife, Diana Rossi in 2012. Together they enjoyed going on trips together, watching Phillies games, and doing puzzles. They made each other so happy.
Through it all, he became part of his second family, one filled with Irish strength and humor. This family remained true to him until the moment of his death, surrounding his bedside with love and support. They shared stories of love and happiness, embracing all the journeys through life he had taken before arriving at his final goodbye.
On Saturday, August 31st at 9:30 we will begin our final farewell to Wylie. Visitation will be from 9:30 - 10:30, followed by a short service beginning at 10:30 AM at McConaghy Funeral Home, 328 W. Lancaster Ave., Ardmore PA. He will be buried at Calvary Cemetery.
