William L. Murphy, age 91 of Villas, NJ, formerly of Wallingford, PA passed away peacefully on November 14, 2022.

Beloved husband of Beverley D.(nee Wait). Devoted father of the late Rev. William L. Murphy, Jr., the late Nancy L. Murphy, Craig Murphy (Donna) and Ryan Murphy. Loving grandfather of Michael P. Murphy (Bryn), Shannon Murphy and William L. Murphy and loving great grandfather of Nancy-Lee Murphy.

Prior to retirement, Bill was employed by Sun Oil Company where he rose from gauging tanks in the Marcus Hook Refinery to managing manufacturing accounting for all refineries in the US and Puerto Rico. After retiring from Sun, he went on to serving as Vice President of Sun Federal Credit Union and upon that retirement, he joined Thresholds in Delaware County where he served as President as well as teacher to Delaware County prison inmates interested in a better decision-making process.

Bill was a sports enthusiast and especially loved his golf and seeing the Phillies and Eagles win championships in recent years. He also enjoyed an evening scotch and a good cigar. He will be greatly missed by family and friends who loved him.

Relatives and friends are invited to a family visitation at 10:00 AM followed by a Funeral Service at 10:30 AM on Saturday, November 19th at the Elam United Methodist Church, 1073 Smithbridge Rd., Glen Mills, PA 19342. Burial will be at the cemetery on church grounds.
