Obituary

William P. McNabb (Billy) of Collegeville, PA died suddenly on June 24, 2024. He was 68.

Born and raised in Bryn Mawr, PA, he was the son of William A. and Anne M. McNabb. He was graduated from Archbishop John Carroll in 1974. He attended Mercyhurst College in Erie, PA from 1976 to 1978. For many years he could be found "catching a loop" at Philadelphia Country Club,  Merion Golf Club and many other local golf courses. During his long career as a bartender he worked at many venues including Roache & O'Brien, The Yorkshire and You Bet Your Life in Bryn Mawr, PA. In 1998 he purchased the U-Turn Inn in Bridgeport, PA where he served as Manager until 2004. In 2006 he went to work at Stonewall Links in Elverson, PA where he served as a bartender until his death.

At the center of his life were his many, many friends both old and new. Friends from high school, college and his many jobs as a caddy or bartender, his Stonewall friends and friends he met on his travels were always happy to see him and to share a laugh.

Billy was a life-long golfer and fisherman and pursued both past times avidly. His happiest hours were spent on the golf course and beach or deep-sea fishing at the Jersey shore. He had a great love for animals and continued to mourn for his black lab, Sammy. He was a great caretaker for all the wild birds, squirrels and faithfully tended his many bird feeders, hummingbird feeders and squirrel feeders both at home and at work.

Billy was predeceased by his parents and is survived by his loving sister Marcella (Marcie) of Collegeville, PA as well as his aunt Kass McNabb of Havertown, PA and cousins. He will be sorely missed by his many friends, his colleagues and his sister's beloved dogs, Casey, Simon, Clyde and Baby the cat who delighted in their daily visits with him in the "Man Cave".
