Thomas J. Hayden, Jr., 76, of Bala Cynwyd, PA., died on Monday, January 12, 2009 from complications due to cancer.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, Tom lived in Bala Cynwyd for most of his childhood and adult life. Before he retired Tom enjoyed a long and successful career with Girard Bank and its successor companies in Philadelphia. Tom was a graduate of St. Josephs Prep and Villanova University. Tom was also a long standing member of St. Matthias Church.
Tom is survived by his wife, Joan Hayden; his children Thomas of Wyckoff, N.J., Richard of Philadelphia, PA, Timothy of Parkton, MD, Michael of Grosse Pointe Farms, MI, Susan of Chicago, IL and Matthew Hayden of Solebury, PA; his nephews Gerald Holleran of Chester Springs, PA and James Holleran of West Chester, PA, his niece Sheila O'Neill of Westwood, MA; his sister Barbara Kearns of Bala Cynwyd, PA, and his many other nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday January 17th at 10:30 AM at St. Matthias Roman Catholic Church, 128 Bryn Mawr Ave., Bala-Cynwyd, PA. Internment will follow in Calvary Cemetery in West Conshohocken, PA.
Calling hours will be on Friday evening January 16th from 7 to 9 PM at the McConaghy Funeral Home, 328 W. Lancaster Ave., Ardmore, PA.
In lieu of flowers donations in Tom's memory may be made to St. Matthias Sanctuary Fund 128 Bryn Mawr Ave., Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004.
