Obituary

Thomas Williams Doyle Sr., 86, of Devon, PA, died peacefully on May 11, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving wife, children, and grandchildren. Beloved husband of 60 years to Margaret "Peggy" Doyle (nee McClatchy).  He was predeceased by his parents, William A. Doyle Sr. and Doris Williams Doyle. Devoted father to Doris Roberts, Thomas Williams Doyle Jr. (Barbara Algieri), Peggy Doyle, Kathleen Peyton (Travis), Patrick A. Doyle Sr. (Cassandra Phillips), Adrianne Rush (Joseph), and Nicole Jimenez (Javier). Grandfather (Cap, Pop Pop) to his 14 precious grandchildren.  He is also survived by his sister, Adrianne Slattery (Gerald), and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

He served proudly in the United States Army with the 101st Airborne Division, as a cryptographer specialist, stationed in various locations in the European Theater including Turkey, which was one of his favorite memories.  He also served in the Pennsylvania National Guard.  He was the third generation to work in the family business, Ford & Kendig Company, in Sales then President and CEO.

A life-long Hot Rod enthusiast, he was remembered for his prized 51 Ford Convertible, affectionately known as the "Purple Passion".

Thomas (Tommy) was a caring, loyal, and devoted gentleman to his family and friends and a master storyteller.  He was an avid hunter and IGFA Sports-Fisherman who caught a record tarpon earning him the name, "Tarpon Tom".  He was also a member of Overbrook Golf Club, The Union League of Philadelphia, Atlantic City Country Club, and Men of Malvern.  During his life, he was a boy scout and was active with many charitable organizations.  He was a lifelong Eagles fan and enjoyed many years living in Narberth, sponsoring his children's sports teams and having barbecues with family, friends and neighbors.  His cherished memories were summers in Longport with his wife and children, fishing on his boat, Buddhalou, and later the Subalou with his co-captain, Uncle Sherman.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, May 19, 2021, at 10:00 AM at St. Isaac Jogues Church, 50 W. Walker Road, Wayne (Chesterbrook), PA 19087.  Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken, PA.
