ROSEMARY C. SMITH, of Merion Station, PA., formerly of Wayzata and Minneapolis, MN. and Mayfair, Philadelphia, passed away on Thursday March 23, 2006 at Lankenau Hospital. She was 64.
Daughter of the late John J. and Mildred Gibson Cashman, she was born in Philadelphia in 1941. Rosemary attended Cecilian Academy and then Jefferson Nursing School where she earned her R.N. before starting her family. She was active in charitable organizations including when she served as President of the American Cancer Society, and later in her life volunteered as a nurse at a youth clinic in Minneapolis as well as at Bryn Mawr Hospital. She was both the President of the Narberth Women's Club and the President of St. Margaret's PTA in Narberth from 1974-1976.
She was the beloved wife of the late Brian J. Smith. Devoted mother of Rosemary Barton, Brian C. (Donna), Michael, and Susan Quinn (Padraic). Loving Nana of Katie and Kelly Barton, Christopher and Matthew Smith, and Mary Grace Quinn. Sister of John Cashman of FL. Sister-in-law of J. Michael Smith (Claire), Margaret Stein, Mary Pat Pirmann (Harry), Dr. Kevin Smith (Barbara), Dr. Gavin Smith, Sean Smith (Mary) and Terence Smith (Alan Costa). She is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews as well as many wonderful friends she made in Narberth, Philadelphia and Minneapolis.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday March 28, 11:00 AM at St. Margaret Church, N. Narberth Ave., Narberth, PA. Relatives and friends may call at the Church after 9:30 AM. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
