Obituary

Rosemary Cellini, age 64, of Stamford, CT., passed away on Monday February 4, 2013 at her home after a brief illness. She was born in Ardmore, PA to Quirino and Clara Cellini (Ricciardi) who are both deceased. She is survived by her brothers Quirino Cellini Jr, and Carl Cellini (Lisa Cellini), two nephews, Benjamin and Dylan as well as numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.

Rosemary grew up in Ardmore, PA and attended Lower Merion High School. She received a bachelor's degree from Philadelphia College of Art and a master's degree from Pennsylvania State University. She has been an art teacher at the Middlesex Middle School in Connecticut for the past 10 years. In 2011 she received the Connecticut Art Educators Association's "Outstanding Middle Level Art Teacher" award. In addition to her teaching responsibilities she was the advisor to the "Odyssey of the Mind" program at Middlesex Middle School and has taught for several years summer art programs. In addition to this, she was a state presenter in the area of assessment of the fine arts.

In addition to her lifelong love and admiration of cats and their quirky personalities she was a lover of fine art, books and "ideas". She valued her Italian heritage, the foods, wine and language but she was a global and universal thinker. Her wish would have been to promote the arts for young people which were the areas of her life she was constantly challenged and motivated to work for.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday March 2, 11 AM at McConaghy Funeral Home, 328 West Lancaster Avenue, Ardmore, PA. Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the Funeral Home from 10 to 11 AM. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established to provide a scholarship for a student(s) at the Middlesex Middle School for their future use in a college fine arts program. It would have made her quite happy to help some deserving student(s) make their way in the world of art. . Please send contributions with checks made payable to the "Rosemary Cellini Memorial Fund" and mailed to c/o Carl Cellini, 1021 Balmoral Way, Maple Glen, PA 19002.
