Obituary

Romeo D. Manzi, formerly of Wayne, PA., passed away on Saturday December 27, 2008 at his daughter's residence in Ardmore, PA. He was 99.

Son of the late Dominic and Frances O'Donnell Manzi, he was born in Wayne in 1909. Romeo was a member of the 1st class to graduate from St. Katharine of Siena High School, and he was also the last surviving member of that class. He was a member of the Main Line Kiwanis Club. He worked for many years as a furniture salesman for Hobson & Owens

He was the beloved husband of the late Mary Regina Hogan Manzi and the late Gladys M. Ferguson Fitzgerald Manzi. Devoted father of Mary "Mimi" Manzi Schwerdtfeger (Paul), Margaret V. "Margie" Pizzi (Tony), Christina "Tina" McClatchy (Bob) and Frances "Tani" Hobson (Jack). Step-father of John J. Fitzgerald, Jr. (Del) and the late Robert A. Fitzgerald (Barbara). Loving brother of Carmel Manzi McEneaney and the late Gerard Manzi, Florence Ford and Lincoln Manzi. He is also survived by 26 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 1 great great grandson and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday December 31, 10:30 AM at St. Katharine of Siena Church, Lancaster & Aberdeen Aves., Wayne, PA. Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the Church after 9:30 AM. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken, PA.


In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cardinal Krol Center at Don Guanella Village, 1799 S. Sproul Rd., Springfield, PA 19064 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
