Robert J. Mahoney, 79 years old, of Bryn Mawr PA died on November 25, 2025.  He was the son of the late John Thomas Mahoney and Gertrude Bernadette Mahoney.

Brother of the late John Mahoney, Jerry Mahoney, Patrick Mahoney, and Gertrude Mahoney.  He is survived by a brother Michael J. Mahoney and sister Mary Mahoney Rogers.  Also survived by nephew John Mahoney and his wife Stephanie of Haverford and their son Matthew Mahoney and his fiancée Amanda Comeau of Bryn Mawr.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Visitation at 9:30am and Funeral Mass at 10am on Saturday December 13, 2025 at Our Mother of Good Counsel Catholic Church, 31 Pennswood Road, Bryn Mawr, PA 19010. Interment is private at a later date.

Robert was born at Misericordia Hospital and raised in Bryn Mawr, PA.  He went to Waldron Academy, Malvern Prep and Villanova University.

He was a member of the cross country team and basketball team at Malvern and was the Co-Captain of Malvern's 1965 Inter-Ac Championship team that went undefeated.  He was also a long-time runner, completing many Broad Street runs and Philadelphia ½ Marathons.

Robert's work ethic started early in his life delivering papers and busing tables at the North Street Beach Shack in Ocean City, NJ. Later, he tended bar for his brother Jerry at Mahoney's 1030 restaurant in Rosemont, PA.  In 1973, he and Jerry went into business together opening Ardmore Tire, Inc. in Ardmore, PA.  In 1983, they moved the company to Conshohocken where it remains today and is owned and run by his nephew John.

He will be missed by all who knew him.
