Obituary

Robert A. Knight, of Wellington at Hershey's Mill in West Chester and formally from the East Falls section of
Philadelphia and Haverford, PA. He was born in Manhattan on December 28, 1930 to the late
Winfred and Brigid Knight and passed away on November 22, 2021. He was 90 years old.
Bob's first wife was June Knight (Sayland). They had a son, Robert A. Knight, Jr. (Karen). Their
marriage ended in 1968.
Bob married Grace M. Knight (Muir) on July 5, 1972 at the Haverford Hotel. They were
together until Grace's passing in August of 1994.
He is survived by children Robert A. Knight, Jr. (Karen), Geoffrey Miller, Franklin Miller, Joseph
Miller (Patricia), Christopher Miller (Karen) and daughter Carlotta Miller. He has 7
grandchildren, Grace, Justin, Jessica, Bryan, Elizabeth, Lindsay Kay, and Hannah.
Bob was a graduate of LaSalle College High School in June of 1948. He knew at that time he
wanted to be a commercial artist so from there he went to the Museum School of Art (now the
University of the Arts) where he graduated in 1953. Bob then served in the U.S. Army for 2
years. He is a veteran.
He was a commercial artist and Illustrator all his life. Early in his career he worked
predominately for Talone & LaBrasca in center city where he did award winning artwork for TV
Guide, Girard Bank, and the Phillies yearbook in 1970. He would later freelance for companies
such as Chilton and Bryn Mawr Trust. He also did illustrations for Country Club Editions in
Bridgeport, PA.  Nationally known for his paintings of contemporary golf scenes, his work has
been published in over 90 limited editions, which are marketed internationally. His eclectic
interests have also led him into portrayals of Philadelphia Main Line scenes, historic events of
the American Revolution and a wide variety of Americana.
Relatives and friends are invited on Saturday, December 4th, 9 to 10 AM Viewing with Funeral
Mass to begin at 10 AM at Our Mother of Good Counsel, 31 Pennswood Road, Bryn Mawr, PA.
Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken PA.
