Robert Joseph Hyland Jr., 76, passed away on May 13, 2026, in Hollywood, FL, peacefully in the arms of his loving son.

Born in Philadelphia, Bob built a life centered around his family. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and carried that same sense of dedication and strength throughout his career and life. He was loved, respected and admired by those he met. It was his years at Barclay White, where he formed lifelong friendships, that he cherished most.

He is survived by his adoring children, Lauren Ickes (Dave), Robert Hyland III (Gina), Lindsey Buckless, and Tricia Humpton (Ryan), and by his cherished grandchildren, Matthew, Owen, Caroline, Sam, William, Charlie, and Ryan, all of whom brought him tremendous pride and joy. Each of his children and grandkids will always know their love for Philadelphia sports, started with our Pop!

Bob was predeceased in death by his beloved wife, Ellen. Bob and Ellen were married for 52 years, until her passing December 13, 2024. In those 52 years, Bob devoted his life to his family. He loved his family fiercely and loyally. He never let a day go by without letting his wife, children, and grandchildren know they were loved.

He is also predeceased by his father Robert Joseph Hyland Sr. and Carmela Marino Hyland.

Bob will be remembered most for his enormous heart, his gentle kindness, his sense of humor, and the way he treated everyone around him with compassion and respect. We will miss his stories, his jokes, his laugh, and his smile.  Nothing made him happier than spending time with his children and grandchildren, creating memories that will remain with them forever.

His warmth, generosity, and unwavering love for his family leave a lasting legacy that will continue to live on in all who knew him.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.

Relatives and friends are invited on Friday May 29th, Visitation from 9:30 to 10:45 AM with Funeral Mass to begin at 11:00 AM at St. John Vianney Church, 350 Conshohocken State Rd., Gladwyne PA 19035.  Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon, PA.
