Obituary

Robert Patrick Floyd, Jr., of Wayne, formerly of Rosemont, PA., 76, died peacefully November 25, 2006.
Robert, son of the late Robert P. and Kathryn McCullough Floyd, was born in Trenton, NJ in 1930. He was a graduate of St. Mary's School in Bordentown, NJ and Trenton Catholic Boys High School. Robert joined the US Navy and served during the Korean Conflict on the carrier U.S.S. Coral Sea. Following the war, he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from The University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School and an M.B.A. from Drexel University. Robert had a distinguished career in sales and as a human resource executive. He spent much of his career with I.U. International and Safeguard Scientifics from where he retired in 1993. At various times during his professional career, Robert also served as an adjunct professor at Villanova University, Cabrini College and Harcum Junior College.
Robert contributed to his community as a member and of the Radnor Township Planning Commission Board for 11 years, concluding as Chairman. In addition, he volunteered for the Devon Horse Show and Country Fair for over 40 years serving as a member and one-time Chairman of the Trophy Committee and a member on the Horse Show Board of Directors. He was a member of Merion Cricket Club and The Corinthian Yacht Club and was a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus.
Robert was the beloved husband of Alexandra "Sandy" Floyd (nee Speed) and devoted father of Robert P., III., John S., Alexandra Floyd Bray and the late David S. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 2 nieces and a nephew.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday December 1, 11:30 AM at St. Katharine of Siena Church, Lancaster & Aberdeen Avenues, Wayne, PA. Relatives and friends may call at the Church after 10:30 AM. Interment is private.
