Obituary

Robert ("Rob") Chestnut passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on January 14, 2024 at his home.

Son of the late Robert and Agnes Chestnut, he was born in Philadelphia, PA and grew up and resided in Springfield, PA.   He was a loving and adored husband to his wife, Michele, and the best dad to his children Michele (Mike), Rob (Steph), and Michael (Kelly).   He was an adored grandfather to his 6 grandchildren whom he loved beyond words.  He enjoyed a happy childhood with his siblings Barbara, Raymond, Kathy, late Agnes, and Mary and shared a deep bond with his sister Barbara.  Rob was also blessed with many wonderful life-long friends and neighbors over his life.

He worked for over 40 years for the U.S. States Postal Service and ran a successful painting business.   He is also a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He was dedicated to his loving family who love and miss him beyond words.  When he wasn't spending time with his family, he enjoyed fishing (especially his annual fishing trip to Canada with his friends), tinkering in his shed, and gardening.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation, Thursday, January 25, 10:00 - 11:30 AM at St. Dorothy Church, 4910 Township Line Rd, Drexel Hill, PA  19026, followed by his Funeral Mass, 11:30 AM. Interment SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA 19064.In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the American Heart Association would be appreciated.
