Robert W. "Snuffy" Campbell, formerly of Penn Wynne, PA., passed away on Thursday January 1, 2009 at Neighborhood Hospice in West Chester, PA. He was 69.
Son of the late Wilson and Dorothy Carrigan Campbell, Bob was born in Philadelphia in 1939. He was a standout athlete while at Lower Merion High School playing football under the late legendary coach Fritz Brennan. He also played basketball and baseball. He was a graduate of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. At Penn he played football and was a member of Penn's 1959 Ivy League Championship football team. He was also a member of Delta Kappa Epsilon while at Penn. Bob served as a reserve in the United States Marine Corps from 1961 to 1967. For over 45 years, he worked as a stock broker for various firms in the Philadelphia area, including E.F. Hutton and Drexel Harriman and Ripley.
Bob was the beloved husband of Lois Dougherty Campbell. Devoted father of Shaun Campbell McCarthy and Robert Wilson Campbell, Jr. Loving grandfather of Bryn and Grey McCarthy. He is also survived by his brother Richard Campbell and sister Jean Rosen.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Memorial Service Friday January 9, 11:00 AM at St. David's Episcopal Church, 763 S. Valley Forge Rd., Wayne, PA. Interment will be private.
