Richard S. Gallagher, "Rick" passed away on October 27, 2022 in West Palm Beach, Florida. He was 71.
Rick Gallagher was born on May 21 st , 1951, in Harvey, IL. He moved with his family to Rosemont, PA in 1956, and spent his childhood and early adult years on the Philadelphia Main Line. He graduated from the Rosemont School of the Holy Child in 1965 and the Haverford School in 1969. He entered Lehigh University that fall and received two degrees, a BS in economics and an MBA in marketing. After a brief stint with Xerox Corporation, he joined WesTec Security in Ardmore and helped develop the then start-up company's clientele in Center City and along the Main Line. In the early 1990's he relocated to Dunedin, FL and joined Chase Manhattan Bank where he was a mortgage banker. Following Chase, he joined T-Mobil Communications in commercial and retail sales. He retired in 2015.
During the summers while attending Haverford, Rick worked as a production assistant for WFIL-TV/Radio in Philadelphia. At Lehigh he was a member of Theta Xi (qX) fraternity and a loyal Lehigh alumnus. While in graduate school he and his brother sold hi-fi equipment at High Fidelity House in Wayne, PA. At Lehigh, he developed a cadre of life-long friends all over the country and around the world. He travelled extensively and enjoyed flying in helicopters and flying small aircraft. He was known for his generosity to children's causes and chronic disease foundations, and even to individuals he didn't know well. He was devoted to his family, especially to his three nephews, and loyal to his friends
Rick was predeceased by his father (T. Stanley Gallagher in 2001) and mother (Madeline Buckley in 1984). He is survived by his brother (Thomas) and sister-in-law (Lindy) of West Palm Beach FL, three nephews: James (Madelaine) of Austin, TX, Graham (Brent) of West Palm Beach, and Charles Gallagher of Manhattan, and a grandnephew, Peyton Gallagher.
Relatives and friends are invited on Monday November 14th, Viewing from 9 to 10 AM with Funeral Mass to begin at 10 AM out St Thomas of Villanova Chapel, 1229 E. Lancaster Ave., Rosemont, PA. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemtery, West Conshohocken, PA.
