Richard Anthony Campion of Villanova, PA passed away peacefully on August 11, 2023 alongside his family.

Born in 1941 to Thomas J. Campion and Julia Kilroy Campion, Dick's life began humbly in Mahanoy City, PA.

He began high school at West Catholic and graduated from Malvern Prep. Dick went on to earn a degree in business from Villanova College, where he was a member of the Men's Rugby Team and developed his lifelong love of high-end sports cars – especially Ferraris.

His life changed forever when he met Joanne D'Angelo in Ocean City, NJ on 14th street beach.  Dick and Joanne's loving marriage began on July 11, 1964 and they were blessed with the arrival of their three children: Joy, Scott, and Beth.

Dick began his professional career with Owens Illinois Manufacturing in Bridgeton, NJ, and his interest in financial markets led him to accept a role with Merrill Lynch in 1967.  His journey as an Advisor began with his training in New York City.  Dick worked in Merrill's Bala Cynwyd office for the next 56 years rising to Senior Vice President-Wealth Management and Senior Financial Advisor.

Always admired for his incredible work ethic and high moral compass, Dick formed lifelong relationships that were steeped in loyalty and kindness.  He was highly respected and loved by his colleagues and clients throughout his career.

Dick was very proud of his Philadelphia roots and always prioritized giving back to his community.  He held a Board position with the Main Line Jaycees, the Catholic Philo Patron Institute, and the Development Council at Villanova which led to a position on the Villanova Finance Committee.  He also joined the Board at Immaculata College where he became Vice Chairman of the Board and maintained a close relationship with the Sister's of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Dick and Joanne joined Overbrook Golf Club in 1969, becoming the second generation at Overbrook following the D'Angelo's membership.  He loved his Overbrook family and quickly developed a love of golf, and he forged countless friendships with both members and staff.  He served as Overbrook's 36th President and left an immeasurable legacy.

Dick's greatest pride was his family.  He spent his summers between Overbrook and Ocean City, and his winters at Hammock Dunes in Palm Coast, FL.  He balanced his time between the golf course and the beach or the pool with his family, while always maintaining his availability to his clients.

He continued his philanthropic efforts throughout his life in many ways, one especially to the exceptional staff at Lankenau Medical Center.

Dick is survived by his wife Joanne; his three children Joy Susanin (Peter), Scott Campion (Anna), and Elizabeth Cullen (James); and his six grandchildren Scott, Jamie, Ryan, Julia, Patrick, and Casey.

He is predeceased by his father Thomas J. Campion, his mother Julia Kilroy Campion, and his brother Thomas J. Campion, Jr.

Relatives and friends are invited on Monday August 21st, Visitation from 12-1:45 pm followed by Funeral Mass at 2:00 PM at St. John Neumann Church, 380 Highland Lane, Bryn Mawr, PA. Interment at a later date.
