Regina Donnelly Haley , a homemaker and volunteer, age 94 of Waverly Heights, Gladwyne, PA passed away on July 27, 2017.
Mrs. Haley graduated from St. Francis de Sales, West Catholic High School and the University of Pennsylvania in 1946 with a degree in Economics. She was married to the late Daniel J. Haley, Jr. for 64 years. He was an owner of Finnaren and Haley Paints.
She had been a member of the Aronimink Golf Club, Skytop Club, Merion Cricket Club and the Union League of Philadelphia. For 20 years she enjoyed their Skytop, Pennsylvania home. She was involved in the community in numerous organizations – University of Pennsylvania Alumnae Association, Women's Auxiliary of St. Francis Country House, St. Edmonds Home, Catholic Philopatrian Literary Institute, Emergency Aid of Pennsylvania, BLOCS (Business Leaders Organized for Catholic Schools), Jefferson Hospital Women's Board, Rodin Museum and the Philadelphia Museum of Art, American Association of University Women, Gladwyne Library League and the World Affairs Council. She walked with her class in every University of Pennsylvania graduation until about 10 years ago. She enjoyed the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Rodin Museum, Philadelphia Orchestra, New York City Ballet, Broadway shows, museums, golf, swimming, old movies, history and reading. She was President of the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital Women's Board and was Chairman of The Friends of the Rodin Museum and Garden. At the Philadelphia Art Museum she was active with a group, Faith and Fine Arts that supported the Philadelphia Museum of Art library. Mrs. Haley was the 1995 recipient of the St. Francis Country House Medallion Award. In 2000 she received the Distinguished Catholic School Graduate Award. Mrs. Haley was very proud of her work with the Founders Award at the Emergency Aid of Pennsylvania which mentored young disadvantaged women.
She is survived by her daughters, Regina Pakradooni and Katharine Palmer ( Walter Pierson Palmer, III) and son Stephen J. Haley (Louise Higgins Haley) and four grandchildren, Danielle Beckett Pakradooni, Walter Pierson Palmer IV , Sarah Rose and Jacqueline Grace Haley.. She was predeceased by a daughter, Anne Ward in 1958 and a son, Daniel J. Haley, III in 1985.and her son in law, Peter B. Pakradooni in 2015. Her brothers, Jack and Larry Donnelly and her sister, Bernice Gordon also predeceased her.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday August 12, 11:00 AM at St. John Vianney Church, 350 Conshohocken State Rd., Gladwyne, PA 19035. Relatives and friends are invited to a Visitation at the Church from 9:30 to 11:00 AM. Burial will be private.
