Obituary

Philip James Reilly, of St. Davids, PA., passed away peacefully on Friday November 15, 2024. He was 89.

Son of the late Patrick J. & Elizabeth Harkin Reilly, Phil was born in Chestnut Hill, PA on October 3, 1935.

Phil was the beloved husband of the late Patricia "Jill" Reilly (nee Kelly). Devoted father of Philip, Jr. (Linda), Kevin (Susan), the late John (Monica), David, and Donna Murphy (Craig). He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and his sisters, Betty Ann Surdykowski and Mary Rose Hentschel.

Phil graduated from St. Katharine's High School in 1953 with perfect attendance and punctuality. Thereafter, he served in the U.S.Marine Corps, starting with his basic training in Camp LeJeune where he lost 50 lbs and went down 2 shoe sizes! He married his beloved Jill in 1959 and they began their family in Radnor. Starting as a young Union carpenter, he was quickly promoted to Superintendent. Phil loved his career and was a
proud member of the Carpenters' Union Local 465 for 70 years. In 40 years of construction work, he was never laid off and missed a total of one day of work due to an injury! Outside of work, Phil loved to spend time in Barnegat Light with his family. He enjoyed the ocean, gardening, and taking his family fishing on his boat, "Life of Reilly". For many years, Phil and his family enjoyed crabbing and clamming on Barnegat Bay
from the garvey boat that he built with his own hands. Phil's deep commitment to his family was expressed by his tireless involvement in his children's home renovations. His grandchildren brought him joy and more recently his great grandchildren made him smile from ear to ear. Phil/Dad/Pop-Pop will be missed dearly.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate his life on Friday, November 22nd. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM at St. Katharine of Siena Church, 104 S. Aberdeen Ave., Wayne, PA. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken PA.
