Norman "Norm" Roger Danzik, LCSW, ACSW, age 79, of Sarasota, FL., formerly of Radnor, PA., passed away peacefully on April 2, 2020. Norm was born in Battle Creek, Michigan on April 4 th , 1940. Norm attended Battle Creek High School and then went on to receive his Bachelors and Masters Degree from Michigan State University.
Norm dedicated his life to serving others, specifically children. He served as the Administrative Director at Bryn Mawr Hospital Youth and Family Center and was then recruited to be the Director at Central Montgomery Mental Health/Mental Retardation Center in Norristown, Pennsylvania. He was then appointed the Executive Director of York County Children & Youth Services and also served as an Administrator at The Elwyn Institute in Media, Pennsylvania. Additionally, in 1980, Norm established a Private Psychotherapy Practice in Radnor, PA where his devotion to helping children, adolescents & adults continued until his retirement in 2017.
His life was an example of how to be kind, compassionate and loving to one another. He truly had a servants heart.
Norm is survived by his best friend and loving wife of 43 years Patricia Danzik (nee Erwin). He is also survived by his son Robert Danzik and wife Gretchen of Pittsburgh, PA; daughter Jennifer Whittaker and husband Percell of West Chester, PA; grandchildren Breyana Brady, Chaz Whittaker, Max Clements, Danny Clements, Mackenzie Danzik, Johnny Clements, Lindsay Danzik, Jackson Danzik, Braden Whittaker and Logan Whittaker.
Norm loved to spend time with his family and friends. He enjoyed camping and fishing and was an avid golfer.
Family and friends are invited on Saturday September 12 th to attend a Visitation at 10:30 AM followed by a celebration of his Funeral Mass at 11am at St Katharine of Siena Catholic Church, 104 S Aberdeen Avenue, Wayne, PA.
In lieu of flowers, the family graciously asks that donations be made to Devereux Pennsylvania CIDDS Learning Center, 390 East Boot Road, West Chester, PA 19380.
