Nicholas V. "Nick" Martell, of Bryn Mawr, PA and Avalon, NJ., passed away on Tuesday August 16, 2011 at The Bryn Mawr Hospital. He was 77.

Son of the late Hamilton S. Martell and Marie Downes Martell Evans, he was born in Philadelphia in 1934. Mr. Martell was a graduate of Malvern Preparatory School. He served in the U.S. Army in the 82nd Airborne. Nick was a founding partner in Realen Properties, formerly known as Realty Engineering Company. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and pilot - both of airplanes and helicopters. He was a former member of the board of directors of Mercy Catholic Medical Center, Immaculata University and Gwynedd Mercy College. He was a member of Philadelphia Country Club, The Squires Golf Club and Indian Creek Country Club in Miami, FL. He was also a member of the African Safari Club.

He was the beloved husband of Mary Catharine Martell (nee Bruder). Devoted father of Kim Roach (Fitz), Dr. Delinda Martell, Nicholas V. Martell, Paul Christian Martell (Cecily) and the late Theresa and Anna Marie Martell. Loving grandfather of Chelsea Roach. He is also survived by his brother Hamilton Martell and his sister Dolinda Balch.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday August 20, 10:30 AM at Our Mother of Good Counsel Church, 31 Pennswood Rd., Bryn Mawr, PA. Relatives and friends may call at the Church after 9:30 AM. Interment is private.
