Michael P.
Mclaughlin
July 24, 1944 – March 12, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael McLaughlin, who left us peacefully on March, 12, 2025 at the age of 80. Born on July 24, 1944, "Mike" was a loving husband, father, grandfather (pop), brother, uncle, and a beloved friend to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Mike was a man whose love for his family knew no bounds. He dedicated his life to those he cherished most, always making sure they felt loved, supported, and comforted. His unwavering devotion to his family was evident in everything he did, and his presence in their lives will be missed more than words can express.
An ardent fan of Philadelphia sports, Mike lived and breathed the highs and lows of the Eagles and Phillies especially. Whether celebrating a championship or enduring a tough loss, his passion for Philly sports was infectious. Many fond memories were created watching games with him, as his enthusiasm and loyalty to his teams knew no end.
But what truly made Mike special was his ability to make people laugh and feel comfortable. His sense of humor was one of his most cherished gifts, and he had a remarkable ability to brighten the room with his laughter. His friends and family will forever remember him for the joy and lightheartedness he brought into their lives, always knowing how to ease a tough day or make a celebration even more special.
Mike is survived by his son Mike McLaughlin, daughter Megan Marts (Jesse), beloved grandchildren Josie, Noah, and Aiden; sisters Rita Carvin (nee McLaughlin) and Peggy Spera (nee McLaughlin) and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Barbara McLaughlin (nee Oates) his parents Edward McLaughlin and Margaret McLaughlin (nee Geary) and brothers Edward McLaughlin and Jerry McLaughlin. Though his passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, his legacy of love, laughter, and loyalty will live on in the hearts of all who knew.
