Obituary

Mary Milus Yoh peacefully went to God at sunset on June 28, 2015, surrounded by loved ones. She was born on February 2, 1937. She is survived by her devoted husband Harold L. ("Spike") Yoh. The happy couple recently celebrated 56 years of marriage. Also surviving Mary are her sons Hal, Mike, Jeff and Bill; her daughters-in-law Sharon, Gayle, Suzanne and Kelly; 15 grandchildren, one great grandson and her brother Paul Milus. Mary is now reunited with their daughter Karen, who went to heaven eight years ago.

Mary grew up principally in Delaware, and then attended Duke University, where she met Spike. They married after she graduated in 1959, and soon moved to California, where they started their family. They moved to the Philadelphia area in 1963, where they raised their five children. Mary was extremely active in the children's schools, The Haverford School and Agnes Irwin School. She taught Sunday school and volunteered extensively for numerous charitable and educational organizations such as the St. Edmond's Home for Children, Bryn Mawr Hospital and Duke. She also enthusiastically supported Spike's multi-decade career as the head of Day & Zimmermann. They jointly led numerous initiatives there, in the Philadelphia community and in Young Presidents Organization.

Soon after their nest was empty, they became Florida residents at the Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo. Mary continued to be philanthropically active, most notably at the Keys Children's Foundation. While they enjoyed spending time in the Philadelphia suburbs, in Avalon, NJ and at Ocean Reef, Mary and Spike also visited over 60 countries.

Mary is remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother, a true matriarch of the Yoh Family, a dear friend, a leader and a difference maker for the many people and organizations with which she interacted.

Services will be at Church of the Redeemer, 230 Pennswood Road, Bryn Mawr, PA 19010, on Tuesday, July 7th at 11:00am. Additionally, there will be a Celebration of Life at Ocean Reef in December.

Memorial donations can be made to either the Karen B. Yoh Foundation (c/o Ruth Watson, Stradley Ronon Stevens & Young, 30 Valley Stream Parkway, Malvern, PA 19355) or the Keys Children's Foundation (21 Dockside Lane PMB 139, Key Largo, FL 33037).
