Mary Jane Mcclatchy's Obituary
MARY JANE McCLATCHY (née HAYDEN) of Gladwyne, formerly of Haverford, PA and Sea Island, Georgia, passed away on May 27, 2011. She was 88.
Daughter of the late Harold S. and Edythe Hayden, she was born on November 19, 1922, and grew up in Cynwyd, PA. She graduated from Trinity College in Washington, D.C. in 1944. She was a former member of St. David's Golf Club and the Merion Cricket Club, and a longtime volunteer for Meals on Wheels and Road to Recovery.
She was the beloved wife of the late J. Donald McClatchy. Devoted mother of Joseph D. McClatchy, Jr., Edythe "Dede" Pahl (Joseph), Joan Marie Brennan (John), and Elizabeth "Lisa" Davis (William). She is also survived by eight dear grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services and interment are private, at the family's request.
Donations in her memory may be made to Meals on Wheels, 8765 Stenton Ave., Wyndmoor PA 19038.
