Marvin R. Gold, Ed.D.'s Obituary
Marvin R. Gold, Ed.D. passed away on Thursday April 15, 2010 at his residence in Haverford, PA. He was 83.
Son of the late Samuel and Jennie Solodar Gold, he was born in Philadelphia in 1927. He served in the US Army during World War II. He was an educator and spent 32 years working in Lower Merion Township School District, starting at Belmont Hills Elementary School in 1964. He was most know for his last 26 years when he was the Principal at Merion Elementary School before retiring in 1996.
He was the beloved husband of Carol R. Gold (nee Subin). Loving father of Heidi and Jason Gold. Dear step-father of Jane Nadelson and David Shapiro. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and his brother Stanley Gold (Joan).
Funeral Services and interment are private.
Memorial donations may be made to Lower Merion Scholarship Fund, memo line "In memory of Marvin R. Gold" and sent to 549 S. Bowman Ave., Merion, PA 19066.
