On Monday, July 13, 2026, Martina Rominger passed away peacefully at the age of 99. She was the cherished wife of C. Jules Rominger, who preceded her in death in 2021. Martina was born and raised in Philadelphia by John and Mary Henry.
She attended St. Francis de Sales Grade School and was a proud graduate of West Catholic Girls High School, where she played in the orchestra. She knew Jules, fondly called “Sully,” from high school, as they grew up in the same neighborhood.
Martina and Jules were married on June 14, 1948, and spent 73 devoted years together. They raised five children in Rosemont, PA, and shared a life filled with love, family, and travel. Martina was a supportive partner to Jules throughout his medical career, and together they made cherished memories around the world. Among all the places they visited, their favorite was their treasured “Little White House” in Skibbereen, County Cork, Ireland, which they called their second home for more than 35 years. There, they built lasting friendships and countless happy memories.
She is survived by four children: Marcella Kubovsak; Robert Rominger and his wife Eileen; Martina Galli and her husband Jeff; and David Rominger and his wife Cindy. Her oldest son, John, preceded her in death and is survived by his wife, Maryhelen. Affectionately known as “Nan,” she is also survived by sixteen grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited on Monday July 20th, Visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 AM with Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. Thomas of Villanova Church, on Villanova University Campus, 800 Lancaster Ave., Villanova, PA, 19085. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken, PA.
