Obituary

Martin Kenneth Gollin passed away on July 18, 2025 at his home in St. Davids, PA.  He was 75.

Martin was born in Carshalton, England on October 7, 1949.  He earned an MSc in chemical engineering from Loughborough University, where he also played rugby.  After working five years in London for an engineering contractor, he was sent to their Lakeland, Florida office.  There he met Barbara through mutual British friends, and they wed two years later in February 1983 (despite a 23" snowstorm in the DC area!) He became an American citizen in 1986.  Martin and Barbara were happily married for 42 years, living in Lakeland, Boston, The Hague in the Netherlands, and St. Davids, PA.  Martin was an avid reader, and following retirement from the ARCO Chemical Company he also enjoyed attending theater productions, tutoring young students in Philadelphia, and developing his woodworking skills.

Martin was preceded in death by his parents, AWJ and Catherine Gollin of Surrey, England, and is survived by his wife Barbara, and his brothers, Christopher of Sydney, Australia and Philip (Anna) of East Molesey, England.

Relatives and friends are invited on Saturday July 26th to a Viewing from 9:45 to 10:45 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. Thomas of Villanova Church (on Villanova University Campus), 800 E. Lancaster Ave., Villanova PA 19085.  Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken, PA.
