Margaretta "Margie" Rose (Shea) Gibson, 99, passed away Monday, December 13, 2021 at her residence in Hillsborough, NC. Margie was born in suburban Philadelphia, PA, and raised her family in Darby, PA and Marco Island, FL. Margie was the daughter of the late Martin Joseph Shea and Mary Bridget Thornton Shea. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerard "Jerry" Gibson and a son, Gerard "Jerry" Gibson.

Margie is survived by her daughter, Maryellen Rutan and husband Justin; sons, William Gibson and wife Nadine, Edmond Gibson and wife Teresa, Patrick Gibson and wife Jean and Sean Gibson; brother, Donald Shea; sisters, Geraldine Shea and Rosemarie Giallonardo; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited on Friday, January 7, 2022 to a Visitation beginning at 9 AM with Funeral Mass to follow at 10 AM at St. Thomas of Villanova Church on the campus of Villanova University, 800 Lancaster Ave. Villanova PA. Masks are required when inside the Church. Interment will follow at St. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Springfield, PA.

In honor of Margie's three biggest loves - her husband Jerry, children and sports - the family asks that donations in lieu of flowers be made in her memory to either The V Foundation for Cancer Research or Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
