Margaret Mary
Roussin
November 23, 1936 – November 11, 2020
Margaret Mary (Peg) Roussin was born to John McElwee and Margaret (Crandal) McElwee on November 23, 1936 in West Philadelphia. She passed on November 11, 2020 from Covid 19.
She leaves behind a brother, James McElwee, a sister, Dolores McNamara, and a stepson, Richard Roussin, and being from a good Irish Catholic family, a huge boatload of nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Peg was predeceased by her husband Wilfrid Roussin, her brother John McElwee and her sister Mary Long.
She resided in Drexel Hill, PA, for the last four years of her life, preceded by over 30 years in Vienna, VA. At age 19 she entered the convent of the Sisters of Saint Joseph and was known as Sister John Margaret, until she left the order in 1985. As a nun she taught elementary school. She remained very active in her parish OLGC, in Vienna, as a Eucharistic Minister, helping with the sick and preparing meals for funerals, until her move to Drexel Hill. Peg will be most remembered for being genuinely concerned for the welfare of others over her own and her kindness toward others.
