Margaret "Peggy" Rogers (née Dagit) passed away peacefully on Friday, September 10, 2021 at her home in Bryn Mawr. She as 91 years old. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Joseph W. Rogers, who passed away in 2017. Peggy is survived by her sister Suzanne Dagit Sennhenn and children: Ellen Rogers Miller, Joseph W. Rogers, Jr., Frank Rogers (Alice), Paul Rogers (Francie), Keith Rogers (Kirsten), and Mimi Rogers Metzbower (David). Peggy grew up in Wynnewood and Ardmore and went to Lower Merion High School where she excelled in many fields and was the school Snow Queen her senior year. She graduated from Drexel University and also earned a Master's Degree in Education at Western Connecticut University. She was an educator who loved teaching and applied that to every facet of her life, beginning with one of the original pre-K programs that provide early education to lower income families teaching in the Head Start Program in New York City.

She was a lifelong learner, voracious reader and teacher with many interests who became a Renaissance woman of sort and served as a resident expert to anyone who would listen to her encyclopedic mind on the subjects of birds, trees, plants, flowers, history, and music …especially music. Her father discovered her gift of music when she was just a toddler and provided her with piano lessons. She was a classically trained pianist but spent most her time playing and singing popular music at countless socials and the organ on Sundays at numerous churches from Maryland to Connecticut.

There was never a day in her life when she wasn't singing. Most recently, she sang in the summer choir at Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church. She was a longtime member of Sweet Adeline's PA, NJ & MD chapters, and locally, the Director of the Heartlights, a singing group founded to sing and bring joy to nursing homes and audiences throughout the Philadelphia area. She was also a member of the Jeptha Abbot Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and an active member in the Conestoga Questors. She was very fond of researching and sharing her family genealogy.
