Margaret Marie
Bedford
February 20, 1947 – August 16, 2023
Margaret Marie "Bunny" Flick Bedford, of Saint David's, PA., passed away at the age of 76 on August 16, 2023 in Bryn Mawr, PA. Anyone who knew and loved Bunny knew that she was a competitive and talented athlete with a natural ability to persevere. Having battled and beaten cancer two times, the long-term effects of these battles eventually wore her body down. She was strong, proud, and graceful throughout her life up until the very end.
Bunny was born at Lankenau Hospital in Wynnewood, PA to the late Margaret Marie McDevitt Flick and the late Lawrence F. Flick, III. She was raised in Wynnewood, PA, and graduated from Lower Merion High School, where she excelled playing field hockey and lacrosse. Bunny attended Business School and later became very involved in what would become her favorite sport of all time: tennis. She was her team's captain for many years at The Conestoga Swim Club and had a lifetime love of watching tennis anytime and anywhere she could!
Bunny was the beloved wife of the late George P. Avery, and the late Frank A. Bedford IV. She was the adored sister of Lawrence F. Flick IV and Joseph Robert (aka Robert J.) Flick (Patricia A. Flick).
Bunny was an incredibly loving and supportive mother of Gayle Avery Peterson (Charles dec'd), Ashlee Avery Doemling (Gregory), and Frank A. Bedford V (Nicole), who adored her children and grandchildren, as they were the nucleus of her life. She is survived by her seven beloved grandchildren: Gregory, William, and McLean (Mac) Doemling; Charles (Max), and Avery Peterson; and Emily and Harrison Bedford. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews: Lawrence F. Flick V, Heather McMeekin, and Christopher, Michael and Jeffrey Flick.
Bunny was the Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Custom Woodcraft Inc. for decades, which was hers and Frank's custom home building firm on the Main Line. The fruits of their labor are sprinkled all across the Main Line.
