Madelyn J. Gartland, of Philadelphia, PA., passed away on September 26, 2023 at Brandywine Living at Haverford Estates.  She was 78.

Daughter of the late Dr. John J. & Madelyn Duffy Gartland, Lynn was born on October 23, 1944 in Philadelphia, PA.  She was a graduate of Country Day School of the Sacred Heart in Overbrook, where she was a multi-sport athlete and of Rosemont College.  After college, Lynn worked in advertising for a number of years before becoming Director of Public Relations & Development at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, where she received several achievement awards during her time working there for over 25 years.  She was a longtime resident of Philadelphia, living in the Society Hill Section of the city.  She loved and enjoyed everything about Philadelphia and also cherished spending her summers down in Longport, NJ.

Lynn was the loving sister of Dr. John J. Gartland, Jr. (Jan), Patricia Gartland Ivanoff (Steve), Mary Ellen Henigan and the late Barbara Chandlee. She was the dear aunt of 10 nieces and nephews and 12 grandnieces and grandnephews.

Services and interment are private.
