Obituary

Lynne Nicholson, of Devon, PA., passed away in September 7, 2012 at the Bryn Mawr Hospital. She was 67.

Daughter of Thomas H. Nicholson, Jr. and the late Jane Maier Nicholson she was born in Reading, PA in 1944.

Lynne had an amazing grasp of the english language. It earned her the ability to become the assistant editor of the American Journal of Surgery and managing editor of the American Journal of Medicine for Dunn Donnley Publishing Company. She sat at a windowed office on 5th avenue in NYC without having a college degree. She learned many breaking medical findings in those years. It fostered in her an interest and trust in medicine. If anyone became ill or was taking a new drug she would pull out her medical reference books and provide insight that often doctors could not. She loved New York, northern California, the Cape and the Everglades. She was a Yankees fan most of her life. In recent years, living so long back in PA, the Philles became her number one team with the Yankees still holding a strong second. She loved intellectual discussions, laughter and was a fan of the Charlie Rose show.

Among Lynne's favorite things in life was birding, she maintained a life list of those birds she identified and always traveled with a bird book and binoculars. She especially loved birding in the sun near water in her younger and friskier years, beach combing and long walks, boating in the Everglades, baseball, books, bermesse pussy cats, and bangles. She loved Martha Stewart anything. She often played a good tune very loudly such as the Eagles, Simon and Garfunkl and Robert Palmer. She had many collections, one of the largest, an assortment of decorative balls.

Most of all she loved her family, a gift we have all shared all our lives. Our family has been blessed with love, respect and kindness for each other all the days of our lives. Nothing, no event, no person, no material thing, in good times and in bad could ever alter our shared love. Above all else we love each other.

She was the loving sister of Thomas H. Nicholson, III., Suzanne H. Nicholson (Harry W. Price) and the late Nancy Collins (Cyril J. Collins, Jr.). Dear aunt of Thomas H. Nicholson, IV., Kristen Anne Nicholson, Emily Jane-Marie Gabrysiak (Damian), Meredith Hart Collins, Andrew W. Price and Laura E. Price. Great-aunt of Rowan Thomas Gabrysiak. She is also survived by her aunt Helen N. Palmer.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday September 12, 10:30 AM at St. John Vianney Church, 350 Conshohocken State Rd., Gladwyne, PA. Relatives and friends may call at the Church after 9:30 AM. Interment will be in West Laurel Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Audubon Society, Delaware County SPCA, 555 Sandy Bank Rd., Media, PA 19063.
