Linda Lee Walsh Beresford, 82, much beloved mother and nana, passed away just before
midnight on Saturday, April 9, 2023
A lifetime resident of New Jersey, Linda moved to Ardmore, Pennsylvania 10 years ago to be
near her eldest daughter and 3 grandchildren.
She was born and raised in Bellville, NJ to Dolores (McNavish) and Henry Walsh. They lived
several years in Avon-by-the-Sea. She raised her family and lived for many years in Morganville,
NJ. Most of her career was spent as an executive assistant. In retirement she worked at a
domestic violence shelter where she was passionate about organizing resources and advocating
for women and children.
Linda was a lover of nature and the outdoors. She was an avid gardener and had a magic touch
with plants. Her gardens thrived with love and made each place she lived beautiful, special and
warm. Her love of animals began in childhood. She brought home stray cats, dogs and a duck
she named Waddles. Throughout her life she always had at least one dog or cat companion. She
fostered several seeing eye puppies, raising them through the first year until they were ready to
be trained as guide dogs.
She was a prolific and talented knitter, as her family can attest to through the many beautiful
hats, scarves, sweaters and blankets we all cherish. When she wasn't knitting, she was reading.
She made the most delicious iced tea. Linda loved the beach and old movies. She was funny,
smart, strong, independent and artistic. She is deeply loved and will be missed so very much.
Linda is survived by her children, Marie, Jon and Celia (Christopher). Adored Nana of Carmen,
Eve, Ella, Matt and Henry. And her sweet dog Lulu.
Her family will host a private open house in remembrance of Linda's life on Tuesday, April 9, 4-
7:30 at the home of Marie Beresford.
