Obituary

Pat Haley, beloved wife of Robert A. Haley, died peacefully Friday morning November 29, 2019 at home at Dunwoody Village in Newtown Square, PA. She was 90.

Born on March 16, 1929, Kathryn Patricia Carville grew up in Wynnewood and Merion, the daughter of James Garfield Carville and Elizabeth (Libby) Sweeney. She was the eldest of five children.

Pat graduated from Chestnut Hill College with a bachelor's degree in psychology and on June 30, 1951, she married Bob Haley, an owner of the Finnaren & Haley Paint Co,

Pat delighted in taking care of her husband and their family of five children. She took great joy in never missing the birthdays of her children and eventually their spouses and her grandchildren, sending cards and delivering carefully selected presents.

Pat also loved cooking, gardening, entertaining and evenings out with their many friends in Bryn Mawr, Avalon, NJ and Mariner Sands, near Stewart, FL. Pat's sunny disposition made her home a happy, welcoming place.

In her spare time, Pat was active in supporting St. Edmond's Home for Children and the French Benevolent Society. She also enjoyed playing Bridge and golf and was the proud owner of a "Hole in One" plaque from Mariner Sands Country Club.

Pat is survived by her devoted husband Bob, her daughters Kathleen (Richard) Churchill, Patricia (Jeff) Hersh, Mary Clare (Scott) Johnson and Susan (Mark) Cavanaugh; her son, Robert A. (Debbie) Haley Jr., and her sisters, Marianne Kane and Beth Bennis. In addition to her 13 grandchildren, she was great-grandmother to three. She was predeceased by a brother James Garfield Carville, Jr. and a sister Nancy Gregory.

Pat's family and friends will celebrate her life at a Funeral Mass on Friday December 6 th at St. Anastasia Church, 3301 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA.  A  Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the church, with the Funeral Mass following at 10:30 a.m. Interment is private.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in her memory be made to the Women's Auxiliary of St. Edmond's Home for Children, 320 S. Roberts Rd., Rosemont PA 19010 or to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America , 322 Eighth Ave. 16 th FL., New York, NY 10001.

The Haley family is deeply grateful for the extraordinarily kind and loving care Pat received from the staff at the Cedars West memory care unit at Dunwoody Village.
