Obituary

Kathleen Mullin (nee Algeo), age 81, entered eternal life on May 28, 2024, at her home in Radnor, PA.

Kathleen, "Kathy", the fifth of seven children, was born in Darby, PA on July 27, 1942, to William Algeo and Catherine (Swift) Algeo and was raised in Sharon Hill.  Kathy loved music and dancing and was proud of her Irish heritage.  Some of her friends from her youth in Sharon Hill have remained her forever friends.  She was a proud member of the first graduating class of Archbishop Prendergast High School in 1960.

Kathy had excellent secretarial skills that she demonstrated at her jobs including Insurance Company of North America, Pennsylvania Railroad and Wills Insurance Company.  Whie working at Pennsylvania Railroad, Kathy met her future husband, Raymond S. Mullin, who she married in 1967.  They enjoyed 47 years of marriage until his passing in December 2014.

Kathy was fortunate to find love again with Mickey McDermott.  In 2020, Kathy and Mickey moved to Melbourne, Florida to enjoy a future of sunny days that was ultimately too short.

Kathy was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond S. Mullin, her parents, William and Catherine Algeo, brothers James, William, Thomas and Gerald, sister-in-law Jean (McCarty) Algeo, brother-in-law Patrick Friel, nephew Thomas M. Algeo, and longtime companion, Joseph (Mickey) McDermott.

Kathy is survived by her sisters Mary Friel, of Newtown Square, and Ellen Stilwell (David) of Lansdowne, sisters-in-law Jean Algeo of Titusville, Florida and Ann Algeo, of Aston, brother-in-law Arthur Mullin (Marian) of Glen Mills, her amazing nephews and nieces, many great nephews and nieces and several great-great nephews and nieces.  Kathy was also blessed to have many long-term loving friends and neighbors who she loved dearly.

Kathy's family gives special thanks to the physicians and nurses at Penn Medicine, Department of Oncology, especially Dr. Daniel Lansburg.

Relatives and friends are invited on Monday June 3rd, Viewing from 9:30 to 11:00 AM with Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at Our Mother of Good Counsel Church, 31 Pennswood Rd., Bryn Mawr PA.  Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken, PA.
