Obituary

On October 5, 2025, Kate Dugan passed away peacefully in West Chester, Pennsylvania. Kate was born to Jack and Mary Dugan on July 4, 1952.

After graduating from Archbishop Prendergast High School, Kate began her career with the US Government and spent many years with the US Department of Labor, starting as a secretary. Her hard work and perseverance led her to rise through the ranks to become the Regional Director of the Office of Information and Public Affairs. Kate demonstrated unwavering commitment, professionalism and compassion throughout her long and impactful career. Kate was involved in managing events with OSHA, including the aftermath of 9/11 and the Quecreek mine rescue.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Kate was known for her vibrant spirit and love of celebration.

Kate was the beloved sister of Jack Dugan (Maggie), Annmarie Hagan (Jack), Jim Dugan (Chris) and Mary Beth Diamond (Greg). Kate's real joy in life were her many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Kate was simply "Aunt Kate" to so many and was very proud of this.

She found joy in arts and craft sessions with her nieces and nephews, creating cherished holiday memories for more than 40 years. A devoted member of her knitting circle – affectionately known as her knitting sisters – Kate spent countless hours crafting handmade pieces that she shared with everyone she loved most.

Kate had a real passion for Halloween and Christmas. Kate enthusiastically decorated her home for every holiday celebration and during these celebrations, Kate showed her passion for baking delicious desserts shared with everyone. Kate also loved the beach and spent many wonderful vacations with family building drip sandcastles and burying her nieces and nephews in the sand while jumping the waves.

Kate's legacy is one of resilience, creativity and her unwavering love for her family and friends. May her memory bring comfort, love and a big smile to all who had the privilege to know and love her.

Relatives and friends are invited to Kate's Visitation on Saturday October 11th at 9:00 AM followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM at St. George Church, 11 E. Lamont Ave., Glenolden, PA 19036. Burial will follow in SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
