Obituary

Joseph P. Martin, Sr., lifelong resident of Clifton Heights, PA., passed away on March 15, 2021 at the VA Hospital Medical Center in Philadelphia, 3 days shy of his 84th birthday.

Son of the late Margaret & Edmond Martin, he was born on March 18, 1937 in Philadelphia PA and raised in Springfield, PA.

Beloved husband of Michelle Yankie-Martin. Devoted father of Trish Buchanan (Jim), Joe (Dawn), John (Jen), Jerry, (Mary) and Travis (Trish).  Dear brother of Margaret Long, Theresa Lawn, Ed Martin, Francis Martin, William Martin and the late 1st Lt John C. Martin and Donald Martin.  Also survived by 12 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, including Joemo's Ohio kids.

Joe was a veteran of the US Army.  He was past President and board member of the DeLasalle Swim Club.  He was a member of Knights of Columbus, Steward, board member and 3rd Degree Knight.  Member of DeLasalle Home Association.  He served on the Philadelphia St. Patricks' Day Parade Committee for 25 years.  Member of the Joe Montgomery AOH 65 Division.  Past member of American Legion and AMVETS.  He will be forever missed by his many friends and all who knew him.

Relatives and friends are invited on Saturday March 20th, 9:30 AM Viewing followed by 11 AM Funeral Mass at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 136 Saxer Ave., Springfield, PA. Interment SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
