Jonathan Peter Naylor, of Merion Station, PA., passed away on November 9, 2014 at Lankenau Hospital. He was 90.
Son of the late Thomas & Mary Brown Naylor, he was born on March 7, 1924 in Philadelphia, PA.
Jon was a Retired Colonel in the United States Marine Corps. He served in World War II. He participated in the assault and capture of Guam, July 21 - August 10, 1944. He was awarded a Purple Heart for being wounded in action on July 21, 1944. After the war he worked as a partner at Vince G. Kling & Partners, an architectural firm. He designed many buildings in the Philadelphia area but also had may architectural assignments worldwide in places like Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Tokyo. He was also a very accomplished artist working in pastels.
He was the beloved husband of the late Wanda Lee "Wynn" Naylor (nee McCloughan). Devoted father of Kendall J. Naylor, L. Stephen Naylor and the late Jonathan P. Naylor Jr. Loving grandfather of Jonathan, Matthew and Patrick. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Visitation Saturday November 15, from 10 to 11 AM with Funeral Service to commence at 11 AM at McConaghy Funeral Home, 328 W. Lancaster Ave., Ardmore, PA. Burial will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Righters Mill Rd., Gladwyne, PA.
