John Fitzgerald
Kennedy Mcgee
October 6, 1964 – September 29, 2024
John Fitzgerald Kennedy McGee, of Bryn Mawr, PA., passed away on September 29, 2024 surrounded by family and friends at The Bryn Mawr Hospital. He was 59.
Son of the late Michael J. McGee, Sr. & Sarah Conaghan McGee, John was born on October 6, 1964 in Bryn Mawr, PA. and was a graduate of Haverford High School.
John was the dear partner for 23 years of Rosemarie "Doll" McCrory. Loving brother of Michael J. McGee, Jr. (Laurie), Thomas G. McGee (Sheila), Claudine McGee-Bounds (Brian) and Madeline McGee. Also survived by his nieces and nephews, Colleen McGee-Owsik (Mike), Michael J. McGee III (Chris), Brian Bounds Jr., Mary Ceschini (Nick), Kevin McGee, Siobhan McGee and Aidan Bounds.
John like his older brothers went to work for the family business at a very early age. He was driving and operating equipment by the time he was 10. As he grew older, John honed these skills and was considered one of the best excavator operators in our area for which he was very proud. Someone once described his skill as "it was like the excavator was an extension of his arm".
John loved being outdoors. He enjoyed both hunting and fishing. However, the ocean was his favorite place. He spent many a summer in Cape May and Strathmere, fishing for tuna with his closest friends. I believe it is safe to say that these were some of the best days of his life.
John was an avid Philadelphia sports fan, especially for the Philadelphia Eagles and we are grateful that he missed that last game on Sunday! Oh Boy would he have been upset.
John had a quick wit and could make you cry laughing. He could tell a story like no one else and if you were lucky enough to sit next to him at the Little Club or at Roache's, you were sure to be entertained.
Our family would like to thank the medical staff at the Bryn Mawr Hospital and the University of Pennsylvania, for taking such good care of our Johnny. He was not always the easiest of patients, but that never deterred them from providing him with amazing care. Additionally, the outpouring of love and support we have received from friends and family since John's passing has been overwhelming and we can't thank you all enough.
We invite our relatives and friends to a Celebration of His Life on Sunday, October 6th, at 12:00PM at the Palombaro Club, 2632 E. County Line Rd., Ardmore PA 19003. Interment is private.
