Rev. John J. Hagen, O.S.A.'s Obituary
Rev. John J. Hagen, O.S.A. passed away on December 18, 2017, at St. Thomas Monastery in Villanova, PA. He was 87.
He was a former Provincial of the Augustinian Province of St. Thomas of Villanova and a professor of English at Villanova University.
He is the son of the late Lawrence Hagen and the late Marie Schilling. He was pre-deceased by 3 sisters and 4 brothers. Besides his religious brothers, he is survived by nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Church of St. Thomas of Villanova on the campus of Villanova University on Thursday December 21, at 7:30 PM. A viewing in the Church will precede the Mass beginning at 6:30 PM.
Burial will be in the Augustinian plot at Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken, on Friday, Dec. 22, at 9:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the Augustinian Community of which Father Hagen was a beloved member requests contributions to be made to: The Augustinian Fund, Care of Sick and Elderly, P.O. Box 340, Villanova PA 19085-0340.
