John "Jack"
Charles Brogan, Sr.
December 3, 1930 – November 5, 2025
John "Jack" Charles Brogan Sr passed away peacefully on November 5, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on December 3, 1930, in Narberth, Pennsylvania, to John Charles Brogan and Bridgette Kerr Brogan, Jack was the oldest of seven children—four boys and three girls—who grew up together during the challenges of the Great Depression.
A proud American, Jack served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, spending two years stationed in Japan. When he returned home, he built a life rooted in family, friendship, and laughter. He remained in the Narberth area throughout his adult life, becoming a familiar and beloved figure in the community he cherished.
Jack was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Margaret, with whom he shared 52 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a family and a legacy filled with love, humor, and deep devotion.
Always larger than life, Jack had an extraordinary gift for lighting up any room he entered. His humor, warmth, and unmistakable presence left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Jack is survived by his children: John and his wife, Barbara; Jim and his wife, CJ; Mark and his wife, Heather; and his daughter Christine. He was a proud grandfather to John and his wife, Chelsey; Ashley and her husband, Reese; and Lindsey and Gracie—and a doting great-grandfather to little Luca. He is also survived by his youngest sister, Elizabeth (Betty Liz) Balch, who shared a lifelong bond of laughter and love with her big brother. He was preceded in death by his brothers, James (Jimmy), Mary Levengood, Margaret Holtzman (Peggy), Charles (Charlie), and Joseph (Joey).
Though his family and friends will deeply miss him, they take comfort in knowing that heaven got a little brighter the day Jack arrived. His stories, laughter, and love will live on in all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing Monday November 10th from 6 to 8 PM at McConaghy Funeral Home, 328 W. Lancaster Ave., Ardmore PA 19003 and to his Funeral Mass on Tuesday November 11th, 10:00 AM at St. Margaret Church, 208 N. Narberth Ave., Narberth PA 19072. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent in Jack's name to The Bryn Mawr Nursing Excellence Program .
