John A. Carr, "Andy", of Ardmore, PA, passed away on December 29, 2013 at Kindred Hospital in Havertown, PA. He was 89.

Son of the late Patrick and Julia McFadden Carr, he was born on October 21, 1924 in Bryn Mawr, PA. He was a graduate of West Catholic High School and served in the medical corps of the 5th Division, Second Infantry Regiment of the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a graduate of Rider College and in 1949 he started a long career in banking at The Bryn Mawr Trust Company and retired as President of The Suburban Bank in Norristown, PA.

He was the beloved husband of Theresa E. Carr (nee McLaughlin). Devoted father of John, Julia, Thomas (Virginia), Ellen Owens (James), B. Charles, Elizabeth Sackheim (Michael), Joseph and Kathleen. Dear brother of Nora Miley, Julia Modelski, Thomas Carr (Eleanor), Charles Carr, James Carr (Elsie) and the late Frances Carr. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 8 step-grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday January 3, 10 AM at St. Colman Church, Lancaster Ave. & Argyle Rd., Ardmore. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing Thursday January 2, from 7 to 9 PM at McConaghy Funeral Home, 328 W. Lancaster Ave., Ardmore or on Friday from 9 to 10 AM at the Church.
