Jean E.A. Kelly (nee Newcombe) passed away on July 23, 2013 at her residence in Wayne, PA.
Daughter of the late John and Mabel Moore Newcombe, she was born in Windsor, England. Jean Kelly helped repair and restore damage to "Hurricane" airplanes during World War II. Coming by ocean liner to the USA after the War, she came to Wayne, PA as a young wife and mother of a six month old child to begin raising a family and running the bookkeeping and payroll for the family Painting business. Jean was an active member for over four decades at St. Katharine of Siena Church in Wayne. She is an original member of the adult choir, sang as a soloist, served as a Eucharistic Minister, an Altar Server, and until recently assisted in the parish office along with many other volunteer activities to help the church.
She was the beloved wife of the late Michael J. Kelly and loving Mother who will be greatly missed by Roger (Patricia), John, Sheila Buerkle (Stephen), Cynthia, Barbara, Michael, Joyce Murphy (Michael), Christopher, Bridget, and Janet Heaton (John) and Grandmother of 14 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She is survived by her sister Betty Bradley of Berwyn.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday July 26, 10:30 AM at St. Katharine of Siena Church, 104 S. Aberdeen Ave., Wayne PA 19087. Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing at the Church beginning at 9:30 AM. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken. Memorial donations may be made in her name to the Church.
