Jayne O'Connor McCauley, of Haverford, PA., passed away suddenly from complications of a stroke on Thursday July 26, 2007. She was 82.

Daughter of the late Joseph and Jayne Haggerty O'Connor, she was born in 1925. A life long resident of the Main Line , Jayne grew up in Bryn Mawr, PA. A former graduate of Lower Merion High School, she attended Chestnut Hill College and graduated from Harcum Jr. College. Jayne moved to New York City were she studied acting and performed in several off Broadway productions. She was a member of Actor's Equity and toured the country doing Summer Stock Theater. When she returned home to Bryn Mawr she became a member of Plays and Players, as well doing several plays with the Narberth Players. Later she joined the Bryn Mawr Trust Company were she worked in the mortgage department. In 1954 she met and married Richard James McCauley Esq. and moved to Washington D.C where her husband was an attorney for the Veterans Administration. Later returning to Bryn Mawr and Villanova she raised her three children and became involved with numerous committees over the years; from giving tours at the Powell House and the John Anthony Wayne House to Co-Chairing at The Academy of Notre Dame Art Show where all three of her daughters were students. She was a member of Overbrook Golf Club and she volunteered with the Daylesford Abbey and was a supporter of Mercy Hospice. She enjoyed her summers on Cape Cod, MA. and spending time with friends and family in Avalon, NJ. She loved all of the arts especially the theater. In later years she enjoyed traveling to Europe with her husband and friends. She loved spending time with her three daughters and her seven grand children. She loved all animals, especially Zekie, her cat.

Her beloved husband Richard passed away in 1994. She was the devoted mother of Jayne McCauley Werner (Richard) of Westport, CT., Tracey McCauley-Scott of Rosemont and Lynn McCauley Adler (Craig) of Chester Springs. Sister of the late Robert and Joseph O'Connor. Loving grandmother of Caroline, Stephen, Abigail & Charles Scott, and Rachel, Gabrielle & Richard Adler. Dear Aunt of Kevin, Stephen, Brian, Christopher and the late Roderick O'Connor. She is also survived by her beloved cousin Joan Hinkle and dear friend Ione Romeika.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday August 1, 10:30 AM at Our Mother of Good Counsel Church, 31 Pennswood Rd., Bryn Mawr, PA. Relatives and friends may call at the Church after 9:30 AM. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
