James J. Lentz, age 42, of Ardmore, PA, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2025, with his family by his side. James was the middle of three children. Born on August 2, 1982, in Bryn Mawr. James was a devoted father, husband, son, brother, and uncle leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness. James is predeceased by his brother, John Lentz. He is survived by his wife, Hillary Lentz; son, Brady Lentz; mother, Mia Lentz (Geoff Stedman); father, John Lentz, Sr. (Mary); sister, Julie Powell (Chris); his niece, Angelina; his nephews, Ryan, Daniel, Connor, Miles; and his many special aunts, uncles, and cousins.
James attended Lower Merion High School and Randolph Macon College. It was there that he became a talented lacrosse player and made some of his best friends. He moved back from Virginia and spent his years with his family before he met the love of his life, Hillary. They lived in Haddon Township, NJ, where they brought into this world the most amazing little boy, Brady. James treasured Brady with all his heart and found his very best friend. James not only loved his family, he also had a knack for making everyone feel welcome and special. He was so full of life, with an infectious smile, engaging personality, and magnetic energy. James was such an important part of his extended family and a wonderful friend to so many. He had the biggest heart and touched the lives of those around him.
Relatives and friends are invited to James' visitation on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:15 AM at St. John Neumann Church, 380 Highland Lane, Bryn Mawr, PA 19010. A Mass celebrating his life will follow at 11:30 AM. Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery in West Conshohocken, PA.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in James' name to Project Home, 1515 Fairmount Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19130, Attention: Sacred Heart Recovery Residence. Contributions will support those on their journey to recovery, in honor of James' brother, John.
