Jacques E. "Jake" Mauch died on October 20, 2014 in his 94th year of life. Loving husband for 63 years of Berenice Mauch, and father of Danna Mauch of Cambridge MA, Karen Mauch of Philadelphia PA, James Mauch of Louisville, KY, Mary Pat Mauch of Glenmoore PA, and John Mauch of Kailua HI, grand-father of Jeremy, Duska, Taylor, Alexander, Alexandra, Julia and, and Hilary, great grandfather of six girls. He was the dear brother of Anne Conboy of West Chester, PA and the late Marie McMonigle, and he is survived by all of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jake, as he was known, lived in Rosemont and Bryn Mawr PA. Aside from raising his family, Jake was a financial and estate planner for 5 5 years, spending most of career representing Connecticut General and CIGNA. Jake was a graduate of Villanova University, class of '43, of which he was class president and joined the Marines for the duration of the war. Jake was stationed on a ship in the Pacific during the war, saw the flag raised at Iwo Jima, and was discharged at the rank of Captain. For the rest of his life, Jake was an ardent supporter and alumnus of Villanova University and its swimming, football and basketball programs. Jake served on the many alumni committees over the years, raised money for the program, and served twice as alumni president. He was also the captain of the Villanova swim team and swam in the Villanova campus pool until his 90th year. He also was the longest season ticket holder of the Villanova football program.

He will be remembered by many as the devoted husband of Bee and for the extraordinary support he provided to his children and grandchildren throughout their lives.

A Funeral Mass will be held in celebration of Jake's life at the St. Thomas of Villanova Church on Villanova University Campus, 800 Lancaster Ave., Villanova, PA on Thursday October 23, 2014 at 10 A.M. Relatives and friends may call at the Church after 8:30 A.M. A burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in West Conshohocken, PA.
