Jacqueline "Jackie" McCarron, 21, of Rosemont, a young woman with special needs and a special spirit, whose strength was her unbridled zest for life, died at home, in her sleep, Thursday February 22, 2007.
Jackie was the daughter of Jeff and Kathy McCarron and the younger sister of Sarah McCarron, who passed away in 2003.
Born in Bryn Mawr, Jackie most recently attended the Melmark Adult Day Program where she worked on projects involving textiles, horticulture, Meals on Wheels, and farm animal care. Jackie graduated from St. Katherine Day School, part of Archbishop Carroll in 2006, attended Ithan Elementary School, and Radnor Middle School.
Jackie was a Special Olympics athlete who participated in swimming, equestrian, bowling, and basketball. She enjoyed dancing, skiing, sailing, white water rafting, theater, and animals.
Jackie is survived by her parents, her maternal grandparents Melvin and Hannah Gilmour of Ottawa, Ontario, paternal grandparents Jack and Bette McCarron of Ocean City, New Jersey, great grandfather Kenneth Raezer, aunt Kim Gilmour, uncle Robert McCarron, aunt Lori McCarron, cousins Ashleigh and Emily McCarron, and an extended community of endearing friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Memorial Service Sunday February 25, 2:00 PM at the Gregg Conference Center of The American College, 270 S. Bryn Mawr Ave., Bryn Mawr, PA.
