J. Francis Mahoney, IV., "Fran", a lifetime resident of Wynnewood, PA, died peacefully on November 28, 2015 surrounded by his family, after a long bout with cancer. He was 69.

Mr. Mahoney was born in Philadelphia, PA, the eldest son of the late J. Francis Mahoney, M.D., and Margaret G. Mahoney, M.D. He graduated from Waldron Academy, Malvern Preparatory School, and the University of Pennsylvania.

In the early 1970s, Mr. Mahoney started working at the Greenfield Company of Philadelphia, where he became Vice President of the Industrial Department. In 1990, he transitioned to Cushman & Wakefield, where he served as Director of the Industrial and Technology Services Group. In 2014, he co-founded Waldron Commercial Realty Advisors. Mr. Mahoney served as the Vice Chairman of the Philadelphia Board of Realtors, Chairman of the Commercial Industry Division, and is past President of the Philadelphia Chapter of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR).

In 1970, Mr. Mahoney married Sally Marie Forsyth and soon became a devoted father of four. He loved to travel, and he played sports regularly, with both family and friends. A longtime member of Aronimink Golf Club, Mr. Mahoney was an accomplished paddleball and tennis player, a club champion in trapshooting, and an enthusiastic golfer. A constant host, he and Sally frequently entertained family and friends, volunteering happily to host every holiday, family gathering, and special event. A superb chef, Fran loved to man the grill and experiment with new recipes for their Gourmet Cooking Group. Mr. Mahoney drew great strength and comfort from the many friends and relatives who surrounded him with love and attention during his final illness. During the recent trips to Bryn Mawr and Kindred Hospitals, the staff affectionately referred to his location as the "party room", always filled with laughing guests.

In addition to Sally Mahoney, his wife of 45 years, Mr. Mahoney is survived by two sons, Francis and Timothy, and two daughters, Sally Ann (Westbrook) and Molly. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Blaine and Sarah Westbrook, and by four siblings, James, Jane, Harry, and Peter Mahoney.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday December 3, 10 AM at Presentation B.V.M. Church, 204 Haverford Rd., Wynnewood, PA. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to a Visitation on Wednesday from 6 to 8 PM at McConaghy Funeral Home, 328 W. Lancaster Ave., Ardmore or on Thursday from 9 to 10 AM at the Church.
