Howard David James, of Coatesville, P.A., passed away peacefully on September 30, 2024 at Roxborough Memorial Hospital. He was 84 years old.

Son of the late Howard C. & Dorothea James, David was born in Philadelphia on October 10, 1939.

David was predeceased by his longtime wife, Sheila James (nee McBride). He is survived by his current wife, Helen Larson (nee Hudson); children, Michelle Magruder and Katie Watkinson; grandchildren Reed & Grant Magruder and Cooper & Miller Watkinson; step-children Juliana Muller and Eliot Larson; and step-grandchildren Luke & Avery Muller and Eliot Larson III.

A graduate of William Penn Charter School and Dickinson College, David was an avid historian, enthusiastic fisherman, clay sportsman, car collector, and active parishioner of St. James Episcopal Church in Downingtown, P.A. Outside his many hours of commitment on the golf course, David could often be found building ship models, entertaining friends, and cherishing his young grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited on Friday October 4th, Visitation from 10:00 to 10:30 AM with Funeral Service at 10:30 AM at McConaghy Funeral Home, 328 W. Lancaster Ave., Ardmore PA 19003. Private interment will be at a later date.
