Harry J. Kenny, of Bryn Mawr, PA., passed away on February 27, 2007 at The Bryn Mawr Hospital. He was 82.
Son of the late Harry J., Sr. and Margaret Flynn Kenny, he was born in Philadelphia in 1925. Harry graduated from Central High School in the 179th Class. He was President of his senior class and continued in the role of Class President until his death. He was an Honorary Life Member of the Alumni Board of Managers of Central High School. Mr. Kenny was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy. He later graduated with a B.S. from Temple University and a M.B.A. from The University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business.
Mr. Kenny was an Executive at ARA Services (now known as Aramark) for 30 years. With William Fishman, CEO of ARA Services, and Cardinal Krol of the Philadelphia Archdiocese, Mr. Kenny worked tirelessly to raise funds for BLOCS (Business Leaders Organized for Catholic Schools.
Mr. Kenny was a member of St. John Neumann Church, Bryn Mawr, PA and of Overbrook Golf Club. He was a passionate gardener, a lover of music and a devoted husband, father, uncle and grandfather.
He was the beloved husband of Mariel "Jean" Kenny (nee Walker). Devoted father of Maureen Kenny (Michael Massari) and Karen Kenny (Philip Chase). Loving grandfather of Nina Kenny Chase and Monica Kenny Chase. He is also survived by his brother Thomas Kenny and a niece Pamela Turner.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday March 2, 10:30 AM at St. John Neumann Church, Radnor Rd. & Highland Ln., Bryn Mawr, PA. Relatives and friends may call at the Church after 9:00 AM. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
